fork inner tube differences

hi there, i m a newbie to this forum.

i was wondering if the INNER TUBES of the front forks are interchangeable from 82 to 83.
i have an 83 with twin disk and air valves on top. will the 82 tubes work given i reuse everything else from an 83 forks.
i looked up bikebandit partnumbers and they are different but they look identical.

You can interchange the fork tubes . My XZ has '82 fork tubes and '83 sliders.

thanx i kinda figured after a while. curently i m trying to locate a frame since i wrecked it last year. tweaked it just enough and bent the fork tubes and the stem.

i m planning on using the sliders (twin disk brakes) and the caps (air adjustable) out my '83 and just getting tubes out of '82 since easily available on ebay.

I have a good frame (no title just bill of sale. Its legal I know the guy it came from. I also have '82 fork tubes.

I'm glad you found this forum. It was set up as an alternative to the ridersofvision.net forum, which dates back to 1998. This one was set up when the other one crashed. Its been up and running for 3 years now. Feel free to use this one , I'll be watching it regularly, or go to the other one , which has a lot more members and information.

Redgod . I checked on shipping. cost of shipping a pallet and guessing 100 lbs , from Kingman to Southgate Mi is $308. Pretty steep.
