Down into the furnace! Empty Down into the furnace!

My friend , Big Mike , was in town (Bullhead )yesterday to make arrangements to remove the burned up rental Mobil home , he owns.
So, not wanting to spend lots of money on gas , I rode the Vision down to the river. We had a nice lunch at the buffet at the Riverside Hotel, Took a quick look at the classic car and bike museum, as well. A BSA Gold Star, a Matchless 600 single caught my eye. I helped tune a Gold Star at Ascot Park in Gardena CA. in 1961 and missed buying a Matchless 600, for 25.00 in 1971. But I digress.

After leaving the Riverside I headed through Nevada , into California to the Avi Indian casino and crossed the bridge back into Arizona. Temp was 114.5. After traveling about 2 miles the Vision started sending code again, dit daa, dit,dit dit. I made a wrong turn and while making a u turn the fire went out! I parked the bike in the shade and asked at the house if I may sit on there steps while I waited for the gas to stop boiling in the carbs. The lady of the house, kindly gave me a large glass of Ice water.
20 min. later it started up and I was off. It started burping again , while I passed through Golden shores, but I made it onto I 40 and it smoothed out at 7000 rpm. But as I stopped at the sign on the off ramp, it died again. The area I pulled over into , was bottomless sand and since the side stand would not support the bike , I had to stay on it for 20 min. in the 116 deg. heat. Finally it started and I headed to Lake Havasu city. At the second stop light coming into town , you guessed it, it died. I coasted down hill in to a mall parking lot and parked in the shade. J C Penny's has double doors and a nice air conditioned lobby, so I sat and waited.
I called Kojo and asked if he would come over and guide me to his house and he obliged. About a 1/2 mile from his home, it died again, but finally we reached his house. I stayed until about 8:30 or 9:00 and I was able to keep it running , as the temp was only 102. Finally made it home about 10:45 . Now you know why I hate going to the river in the summer!
Monk , stay away from Parker, till the fall!!

HAHAHA we were just talking about that!! we missed going for the 4th.. and we were talking about going now or soon.. We may take night rides.. Its a long way,, we may trailer the bikes too,, I dont know yet,, the thing is that my friend owns a house down there and they dry out if you dont keep water going and buckets full, all over.. We have to water it up again....
We may leave here around 12 noon, getting into the flat and uninteresting part of the ride around dark and ride the rest of the way at night.. and leave there at midnite and back up here by noon... Still up in the air yet...
I'll probably ride my Virago, Dan a rental Vrod to see if he wants one. If he doesnt like it, trade it in for a heritage softtail for the return.. He may have to ride his R100 because it may be getting sold to a buddy of his in phoenix, too, so there are still many variables to work out...

DAMN too hot for me.. I melt. Im gonna have to go nocturnal. and superhydrate all day with becks and 'rita's.....

Thats funny when I read that Rick because I only live about 3 miles off I-40 too. So, technically, you live just down the road from me....a bit. :-)

Gee David , it seems like we could just hand a part to a passing motorist and they would drop it off, 2 days later!!! Very Happy
