Well, I rode the 7 mile ride to go visit Lucky at work and see whats up and just before I got there, YJ started missing and losing power. I nursed her into the Ace Hardware parking lot and a guy came over to me right away and said "looks like you got a stuck float". He gave me some tools and I banged the carb a couple times to loosen the float. We talked "Vision" for a while as he was a biker too and wanted to talk about my "interestng looking" bike.
Anyway, the rear carb drains like the Exxon Valdez on a bad day while the bike is running and stumbling. When the bike is off, it eventually stops. In just 14 miles, I lost almost a full tank of gas!!! I nursed it home (sounded like a model t on a bad day) and of course continued to leak. Banged the carb a bunch of times while the bike was running but it did not unstick. My guess is a bad/broken float....and I was about to give away a good one. Looks like I'm gonna spend my weekend doing a carb overhaul. At least I know its the rear carb.
Maybe I'll do the shock too since I'll have everything off the bike.
UGH...and I had been jonseing for a good ride too.
