During my recent, adventure into hell, along the Colorado river,the vision suffered multiple failures. The vapor lock problem is old news. But the high beam went out, on my 2 month old bulb, at first I thought it must be the switch or a bad connection, but no , its the new bulb!! Rats!!
Then there was the problem with the voltage indicator , or rather the problem was with the stator.
It was 1/4 quart low, when I left kingman and was coming up on an oil change.I checked in Havasu , just before I jumped on I40 and it was nearly a quart low!! The stator was somewhat used when I installed in it spring '05 ( it came from the Vision Racer and had little use) So, I will reinstall my '03 Eletrex, as it was only used for about 18 months. I suspect that the low oil level finished off the high mileage stator.I'm glad I had that digital voltage monitor.!!
My seat cracked open too, so I cleaned up another one and switched them.
