I had been working on my friends 72 BMW R75/5, and took to the last arizona trip, all was fine.. came back up to 6500 feet, fouled a plug. So, I changed the plugs, tweaked the mix a bit, took her over the hill to Genoa, the oldest town in Nevada.. It was a really nice ride, perfect weather, bike was fine. Lots of bugs, though. Musta got nailed about 20 times.. took a yellowjacket to the chest,, (not the bike, thank God!!!),, lol, took a bite too but didnt seem to affect me much. Kewl! Gonna check the plugs again this morning and take another ride,, maybe Emerald Bay, again..

Glad it wasn't YJ. She's pretty hefty.
I got hit by one right under the chin and it got knocked down into my collar on my jacket. Got stung. Hurt like a ...
When I took the MSF class a girl who was "deathly allergic" to bees got stung between the fingers. It had actually gotten into her helmet and she was trying to swat it out - while she was riding. We had to call her husband to bring her epi kit before she either quit breathing or swelled up like a balooon.

whoa,,to me, its like when your scuba diving,, calm will save your life. Panic will kill you. I went on as nothing had happened.. after calmly fluffing him out of my shirt, of course. Would have been a bit more involved had it been YJ!!!!. Another ride today and a check of the plugs on the 75/5, almost ready to go.. still waiting for my virago tags...

I usually ride with my visor cracked a half inch, I caught a bug , in OR. right on the edge of the visor and had to stop and clean the yellow bug guts off of my face ! My Grand son thought it was hilarious!

Re: Took a short Tahoe ride
On my way home from work on Friday, I got a bee in the helmet. I pulled over, and just as I was about to pull the helmet off, she wandered out and flew off without stinging me. I did check to make sure she didn't have friends...

Took a short Tahoe ride
Funk,
Check the bing slide settings... I was having and overfuel adjustment issue and discovered that the Bing slide needles were set differently. In the normal circumstance the R50 clip is in hole 3 of 5. Check it out. I am still having small issues and I think I need to pull the jets and compare them.

Re: Took a short Tahoe ride
Its great now.. a little dialing in and both plugs are perfect.... I havent got around to the light switch yet,, but I have my mind around it, Id like some of the chrome louvered side covers,, but theyre 110 each.. It doesnt need em that bad!!! I love riding that bike..Lately, Ive been riding my Virago 920 and getting really used to it.. I like it too..a LOT.. but it doesnt garner the nostalgia the bimmer does...
