I've found a Yamaha 750 triple stored in a garage for it's entire life. What do you guys know about these bikes? Do they have any weak spots or issues?

    R. Greville probably has some data on the bike. From what I've heard over the years, they were an excellent bike. Late '70's technology. Think they had shaft drive which to my mind is highly desireable. If the bike is intact and not too badly damaged, it would probably be a great project bike that could turn into a good daily driver/sport tourer. Should only need carb and electrical connector cleaning, new tires and battery, and quite possibly new fork seals.

last i heard those triples were addictive, and they rub a raw spot on your thigh ,near seat contact point ,,, from locking knees in to tank on accel . fun rides, bit of a bear to get running smooth, but once you find secret ,,, a real blast

I had a 850 triple , for a while in 2004. It was the cruser version, so I didn't keep it. It came as part of a trade, including 3 Visions.
It was very smooth and accelerated very well . I rebuilt and synced the carbs on it and changed the oil. The first thing you will want to check, is the filter center bolt. There usually rounded off. you can still get them. I used a pipe wrench to get the old one out.
I still have a set of carbs for it as well as the serviced manual. (which I will sell)
The only caution I've heard from other wrenches of that era , was not to over rev it.
