As they seem to be unobtainable I had the idea of fabricating a side draught manifold from aluminium tubing and flat plate and fitting a single CV carb off something like a 400-500cc single. Has anyone tried something like this or is it just one of those stupid ideas I should have kept to myself? My initial assumption was that the petcock was leaking through the primer opening and draining into the engine but when I set the petcock to "on" is seals tight and there is no leaking at all through the prime gas line. There are no signs of gasoline anywhere that I can see, on the engine, frame, or the cement underneath it. Any carburetor openings that I should be looking ... The gaskets are pretty well stuck on and I don't want to try and move them in case they get damaged. As far as I know I can't get replacements. Also there is a plastic part coming out of bottom of each carb that I don't know how to take out. There is a rubber tube connecting each carb fitting onto plastic parts. I am using Yamaha carb dip, the instructions say to throw whole carb in but mechanic at dealer said it will disslove the rubber. Does this extend ...
